When the Wixom Lake and Sanford Lake dams failed on May 19, 2020 the lakes quickly emptied and the flood caused destruction downstream. The before footage in this video was filmed with a drone on May 20th and 21st 2020 in Sanford, Wixom Lake, Curtis Road in Edenville and Midland. The after footage was filmed on May 11, 2021. Some areas look drastically different while little progress has been made in others. The reconstruction of the dams has not started. The plan is to restore Sanford Lake by 2025 and Wixom Lake by 2026. 0:00 Sanford 1:04 Midland 1:11 Curtis Road in Edenville 1:36 M-30 over Wixom Lake 1:48 Tittabawassee River at Estey Road 2:01 Edenville dam
