WENATCHEE — Washington state law prohibits local law enforcement from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and despite the flurry of executive orders from a new presidential administration, officials don't think the status quo will change.

"The big thing for us is it comes down to the state law," said Wenatchee Police Department Chief Edgar Reinfeld. "We don't maintain any records regarding anyone's immigration status. It's not allowed by law, nor would we want to."
