We had the pleasure of visiting The Glenmore Distillery, a Sazerac Company and legacy employer with more than 175 years of history and a lasting impact on Greater Owensboro’s economy. Home to one of the largest and most modern bottling facilities in the country, Glenmore employs over 400 people and bottles a wide range of globally recognized brands, including Kentucky Tavern, Svedka, and Montezuma, right here in Owensboro. The distillery is not only a national leader in production but also a proud investor in the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation, helping to shape the future of our region. We’re especially grateful to Zak Kissel, General Manager at Glenmore and a dedicated member of our GOEDC board, for his leadership and ongoing commitment to Owensboro’s growth. Special thanks to Zak and Nathan Bienvenu, Operations Manager, for the behind-the-scenes tour and for all they do to support our local economy and workforce. Glenmore’s continued investment in people, innovation, and place is a powerful example of how history and progress can go hand in hand. #MakingOwensboroGreater #EconomicDevelopment #BusinessRetention #ManufacturingLeadership

Did you know that each year, upward of 125,000 mint juleps are served over Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs Incorporated in Louisville? That requires more than 10,000 bottles of Kentucky bourbon, 2,250 pounds of freshly harvested mint and 475,000 pounds of ice. But that's only a small portion of the bourbon boom in the Bluegrass State. Gary Daughters captures the allure of this popular drink and tracks its progress in the Kentucky Economic Development Guide.
