Groundwater
flooding.
Let’s talk about it.

After watching Darcy’s Tale, you may wonder ‘what’s my risk from groundwater flooding?’

For most people, we still don’t know.

That’s why we commissioned this film.

Darcy’s Tale is raising awareness about groundwater flooding.

Our network wants groundwater flooding to be considered like any other flood, and for people to be prepared when it happens.

You can find out more about groundwater flooding on this site, and what to do in a groundwater flood here.

You can read about our projects and the trials we are running.

You can join our network to discuss ideas, share learning and help drive policy change.

Why does it matter?

Groundwater flooding is the least invested in, least well understood, least monitored and least responded to of all the sources of flooding. People are not prepared to manage the disruption and devastation it can bring. We want more people to understand what groundwater flooding is.

We want it to be equally considered alongside all other sources of flood risk.

We want to see national planning policy improved.

We want to showcase our evidence through case studies, academic research and expert testimony.

Come together and change how groundwater flooding is considered

Our network exists to bring together people who are passionate about changing the way groundwater flooding is considered and managed. By pooling our ideas and expertise, we’ll get a better and faster understanding of the scale of groundwater flood risk, including its impact, and the benefits that interventions can bring. It's an exciting and important conversation. And it’s open to everyone working with or for communities affected by groundwater floods.
