This session is inspired by The United States' Opportunity for Circular Fashion—a report from American Circular Textiles. It shows how fashion impacts our health, wallets, and the planet, and how we can do better by moving away from the take-make-waste model. It also makes the case for public policies that support a more circular system—one that creates jobs, supports local businesses, and gives more power to everyday people.
So, what does “community-based textile circularity” really mean? What actionable steps do you want to take part in?
We’ll dig into those questions together. You’ll join small group discussions to talk about your experiences and what changes you want to see—whether a small-batch vendor, nonprofit, mender, micro-enterprise, volunteer-run thrift shop, designer, manufacturer, maker, or just passionate about this work. Your voice matters in shaping future policies.
Note: This part of the webinar won’t be recorded to help everyone feel comfortable sharing and being present.
We’ll close the webinar with a panel of policy experts who will provide updates on circular textile efforts happening globally—as well as in California and Washington:
In the spirit of radical collaboration, we’ll end with a full-group conversation to connect, reflect, and co-create a shared path forward.
