Ecology certifies Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators to ensure they are qualified to properly operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities. By law, the fees paid to Ecology must fund the Wastewater Operator Certification (OpCert) Program. These fees are subject to change, dependent upon a budget and workload analysis completed every two years.
We are not proposing any changes to the operator certification fees for the next two years. This is based on the estimated administrative costs of the OpCert program and the projected account balance. The current and draft fee schedules are available on our webpage or below.
We want your feedback
Even though we are not changing the fees, we are still accepting comments on the proposed changes. We are accepting comments on the draft fees from midnight on March 26, 2025 to 11:59 p.m. on May 10, 2025. Written comments by mail must be postmarked by May 10, 2025.
